Selecting Imagery Product Types in Tasking Requests
Tasking Users: Understand how imagery product types are selected and managed when submitting tasking requests.
Overview
When submitting a tasking request in Console, the Imagery Product Types section displays the list of imagery formats - e.g., GEO, SLC, SICD, that will be included in the request. These selections are determined by your organization’s configuration and can be adjusted as needed within limits.
Imagery Product Type Defaults
Each organization has default imagery product types defined by the Org Manager. These defaults help streamline tasking by pre-selecting the most relevant product types for your mission needs.
-
Required product types (e.g., GEO) are always included and cannot be changed.
-
Optional product types are pre-selected but can be added or removed.
-
Unavailable product types are not visible for selection and cannot be added by the tasking user.
Customizing Selections
Tasking users can review and modify imagery product type selections directly in the Imagery Product Types section of the tasking window.
To customize:
-
Open a tasking request in Console.
-
Scroll to the Imagery Product Types section.
-
Use the dropdown menu to:
-
Add available imagery product types
-
Remove optional product types not needed
-
-
Submit the request as usual.
Key Considerations
-
GEO is always included in all tasking requests and cannot be removed.
-
Changes to imagery product type selections can be made up to 3 hours before the expected collection time.
-
After the cutoff time, modifications must be requested through the archive via reprocessing.
-
When reordering from the archive, additional imagery product types can be requested even if they were not included in the original tasking.
Benefits of Product Type Selection
-
Relevant Deliverables: Choose only the product types that match your mission requirements.
-
Faster Processing: Exclude unneeded formats to speed up delivery.
-
Operational Consistency: Org-defined defaults help standardize tasking across teams.
-
Reduced Storage Needs: Eliminate unnecessary data formats from your workflow.
Additional Notes
-
The list of available product types varies by collection and organization configuration.
